RMT presents

SONGS OF AMERICA

SONGS OF AMERICA is a dynamic multimedia program that will take your students on a journey through over 200 years of U.S. musical history.  The roughly 50-minute presentation consists of live performances of classic American musical works such as “Yankee Doodle,” “Follow the Drinking Gourd,” “When the Saints Go Marchin’ In,” “This Land is Your Land” and “Fanfare for the Common Man.”  The songs are accompanied by commentary and slides that bring to life the historical events that inspired the creation of these American musical masterpieces in the first place.

RMT is a band that has written, recorded and performed music in the central Ohio area for over a decade.  The group created SONGS OF AMERICA in order to offer students an educational, entertaining and unique way to learn about American musical history.  Students will also learn about how this musical history has influenced the band as writers and performers.

SONGS OF AMERICA is available as either a five-piece full band performance featuring guitar, keyboards, harmonica, bass and drums, or as a duo performance featuring guitar and keyboards
